An evening of music from the West End and hit films is being staged at the Lichfield Garrick.

Walsall Operatic Society return to the stage after their successful run of Guys and Dolls last year.

The evening will begin and end with a few popular chorus numbers including hits from Les Miserables, Pirates of Penzance, The Full Monty, and Fiddler on the Roof. The middle section of the cabaret evening will be open to the audience to request solos or group numbers they would like to hear.

A spokesperson said: “Walsall Operatic Society is a group of talented amateur singers, performing musical shows and concerts in the Walsall and Lichfield areas.

“The group have many young members who not only sing but also get involved with choreography, piano accompaniment and musical direction. Twenty-one-year-old Charlotte Mills is the musical director for this concert is also an excellent solo singer.

“The society is working to increase their audience base in the Lichfield. In the last 12 months the group performed outside the Cathedral as part of the Lichfield Festival and in December they sang carols in Market Square as part of the Lichfield Christmas Festival.

“This show promises to be an entertaining and sociable evening out, and the cabaret style seating in the Garrick Studio will give the audience the chance to relax with a drink while enjoying a variety of performances.”
