A celebrity chef is set to visit a Lichfield supermarket to help promote Fairtrade Fortnight. Richard Fox, who is a regular on BBC2’s Food Poker and The Food Channel’s Market Kitchen, will be at the Midlands Co-operative Society’s store on Boley Park on Tuesday (February 28). Between 10am and midday he will be inviting customers to sample some of his latest culinary creations, showing how to transform left-overs into delicious budget bites, at the same time as minimising food waste. Free samples of Fairtrade products will also be available. Richard, who is a regular chef on BBC2’s Food Poker and The Food Channel’s Market Kitchen, has been working with the Society’s Member Relations team to develop a series of short cookery films communicating ethical food messages which will be broadcast on the Midlands Co-operative website later in the year. During Fairtrade Fortnight Midlands Co-operative Society is asking customers to Make a Pledge in support of the Fairtrade Foundation’s Take a Step for Fairtrade campaign. The Foundation is urging people to switch a product in their shopping basket to Fairtrade.
