A popular 10k race near Lichfield has been boosted by the news that its main sponsor is set to continue supporting the event.
The news means that it will be the fourth year the Fradley 10k – which takes place at 10.30am on March 11 – has been backed by bagged salad company Florette.
As well as sponsoring the 2012 race, the company will also be encouraging staff to get involved and helping them with tips and advice on healthy eating and living.
Florette spokesperson Niki Webster explained: “As a brand, healthy, fresh living sits is at the centre of all our activity and helping consumers feel good underpins this. That’s exactly why we are continuing to support the Fradley 10k, it’s a great local event that encourages people of all ages and walks of life to take part in running.
“We are promoting the event to all staff and encouraging everyone to take part in our drive for healthy living. Nationally we have a summer of sport to look forward to, so this spring event is just what the region needs to get everyone in the mood.”
Kevin Wilson, from race organiser KP Events, admitted he was delighted the partnership had been extended.
“Florette and KP Events have much in common around the get fit, keep fit, live better agenda and Florette’s association with our event is very valued,” he said. “We see a partnership extending beyond the Fradley 10k link up and we hope to announce some very exciting news about further collaborations in the near future.
“This promises to be an exciting year for sport and locally we hope to play our part in making running more accessible, by linking with Florette and its loyal consumer base it helps get that message out there.”
