A brace from Jamie Aiton along with strikes from Tom Lowe and Karl Edwards secured the league title for Chasetown FC Reserves.

Andy Penny’s boys have regained the trophy, eclipsing last year’s feat by doing it without losing a game. They thoroughly deserve their success and have had to dig in at times to clinch results.

Lowe opened the scoring with his third goal in as many games, finding space to head home Matthew Wood’s cross after 11 minutes.

On the half hour mark Karl Edwards increased his season tally to 15 goals in 15 games when he buried the ball into the bottom corner of the net following good work from Jack Hulin.

Jamie Aiton scored the next two goals with a header from Chad Degville’s corner and a fantastic second half volleyed lob over Brocton keeper Will Smith’s head.

He almost grabbed a hat trick when his free kick skimmed the outside of the post in the dying stages.

The Badgers didn’t produce many chances due to the usual water-tight Scholars rearguard but Ally Deakin and Daniel Scragg worked tirelessly.

The Scholars Reserves still have two league games to play and have also reached the semi- final of the Midland Combination Trophy and the final of the Staffs FA Challenge Cup.
