The history of fashion will be in focus at a Lichfield museum.

An Ironbridge Gorge Costume Project recreation of a Mantua Gown

A talk by Gillian Crumpton, costume project manager for the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, will be talking at Erasmus Darwin House on This month Erasmus Darwin House will host a talk on April 26.

The project she oversees has been producing bespoke costumes for museums since 2004.

Gillian’s talk – The Changing Shape of Fashion: Georgians to the New Look – will lift the lid on the history of our clothing styles.

Alison Wallis, curator of Darwin House, said: “We’re very excited to have Gillian deliver a talk at the House as we already have a couple of their costumes here for people to try on so we can attest to their knowledge and skills of historical costume.”

The talk takes place on April 26 at 7.30pm with a chance to have a look at some of Gillian’s costumes and enjoy refreshments from 7pm. Tickets cost £5 and are available by calling 01543 306260 or emailing
