Oxfam’s work highlighted in Lichfield open evening event

People will be able to learn more about the work of Oxfam at an event in Lichfield.

The open evening on Tuesday (April 24) will give details of the local, national and international projects the charity work on and give residents a chance to become involved in the charity’s work in Lichfield.

Jenna Wills from Oxfam explained: “Being a Lichfield resident myself, I’ve always admired the community spirit and kindness of the people in Lichfield.

“Over the years, the community has been incredibly supportive of our two Oxfam shops in the area, especially in times of emergencies. This event is our chance to say thank you to those who have supported us in the past and to show them what a difference they have made.”

The open evening will take place in Oxfam’s Books and Music Shop at 32 Market Street, from 6pm to 7.30pm. Guests will enjoy fair-trade tea and biscuits, hear about Oxfam’s projects, meet the local Oxfam team and view some of the most important equipment Oxfam use in emergencies.

“We’re really looking forward to the event and would like to encourage anyone with an interest in Oxfam to come along and find out more,” Jenna said.

“We’ll be launching our brand new fundraising group on the night too, so there’s lots of ways local people can get involved.

“There will even be the opportunity to enjoy some exclusive shopping time and browse our books too!”
