Two men have been jailed for a street robbery in Lichfield.
Duane Gair and Nathan Moore committed the crime in the Stowe Pool area at around 2.45am on Friday 10 February 2012.
They targeted two men, aged 22 and 20, who were walking home from the city’s Tesco superstore. Gair and Moore pinned the men against railings and demanded property from them, taking their mobile phones and punching one of them in the face.
The offenders were arrested later that morning at Moore’s house in Pauls Walk, Lichfield.
They were subsequently charged with robbery, which they both admitted.
At Stafford Crown Court on Friday 20 April, Moore (21) was jailed for 24 months and Gair (22), of Dimbles Lane, Lichfield, received a 20-month prison sentence.
Inspector Jed White, Lichfield Local Policing Team Commander, said: “Gair and Moore are serving significant sentences for their serious crimes.
“Our officers arrested them within hours of the robbery and a thorough investigation followed. We treat robbery – which can be terrifying for victims – and other violent crime extremely seriously.
