Part of a main road in Lichfield was closed after a lorry hit a railway bridge.

The incident happened last night (May 21) on Upper St John Street.

Train services into Lichfield City and Lichfield Trent Valley on the cross-city line were also halted while engineers checked the bridge.

The line was eventually reopened at 10.30pm.

has anyone noticed the last 3 nights lorries thundering down Ryknild Street in Boley Park – I counted 30 every 15 mins, starting about 8.45 and continuing – can’t keep the back door open due to the noise – understood there was an incident on 21 May but that doesn’t explain the other 2 nights? baffled…
