Entertainers are being invited to help entertain the crowds at an event in Lichfield.

Organisers of the Florette Festival Market are calling for local performers to showcase their talents on July 7.

The annual market takes place around Lichfield Cathedral Close and features over 130 craft stalls, local food producers and demonstrations as well as entertainment from many local performers.

Entertainers on stages at the event will include Walsall Operatic Society, the Enigma Brass Band, Watershead Theatre Company, West Bromwich Operatic Society and the City of Lichfield Concert Band.

But market organisers are keen to have entertainers moving about the city as well, to entertain the 20,000 or more visitors who are attracted each year.

Stalls for this year’s market sold out in record time and organisers at the Lichfield Festival are very excited to be welcoming many new sellers to the event.

Market co-ordinator Jennifer Smith said “ The Festival Market is going from strength to strength and is a key event in the calendar for many local crafters and artists.

“This year we welcome over 40 new stallholders bringing unique crafts and food to the city as well as many new performers from across the region.”

Stalls include Cannock Dairies, Quartz Brewing, Coulter Lane Fruit Farm, Halfpenny Green Vineyard and Lichfield Brewery. Other stalls will be displaying and selling jewellery, ceramics, art, wood carving and much more.

Niki Webster, brand manager at Florette said: “This year’s Florette Festival Market is set to offer an exciting mix of entertainment, shopping, demonstrations and tastes for everyone and we’re proud to be sponsor.

“I’m looking forward to seeing which performers come forward and take to the market’s streets on July 7.”
