Detectives have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to following a robbery in Burntwood last Thursday, 24 May.

The robbery happened at Ladbrokes at Cannock Road, Sankey’s Corner, at around 9.15pm.

A man entered the bookmakers and threatened the male member of staff with a knife, demanding money. The worker handed him a quantity of cash and the offender left. No-one was injured.

The robber is described as a white man, around 6ft tall, aged in his 40s and of large build. He wore hooped ear-rings in each ear and a black leather jacket which had a grey material hood.

Det Sgt Tariq Hussain said: “This was an isolated and rare incident which we are treating very seriously and thoroughly investigating.

“We want to speak to anybody who recognises the man or who saw him outside Ladbrokes before or after the robbery.

“Anyone who does come across this man should not approach him but should contact police immediately.”
