Hundreds of women took part in the St Giles Hospice Solstice Walk to raise money for the well-known local charity.

Over 700 women took to the streets of Lichfield city centre on Saturday night, many dressed in fairy themed fancy dress, for the annual fundraising event estimated to raise £70,000 for St Giles.

Lichfield Bower Queen, Rosie Smith started off the Solstice Walk which was sponsored by Florette.

Helen Relihan, Head of Fundraising for St Giles Hospice, said: “The atmosphere on Saturday evening was incredible – it was humbling to see so many of our supporters taking part, and all with big smiles on their faces.

“On behalf of St Giles, I would like express my gratitude to everybody who took part in the Solstice Walk, their generous sponsors and all the volunteers and marshals who gave up their time to help out on the night.”

Hi Rachel,

There were two photographers at the Cathedral. the one with the hat was from St Giles. I was the other one with a beard. If I was the one who took the photo, give me a clue what you were wearing (there were over 800 of you most in pink and wings!) and I will have a look back through the images.
