Lichfield and Burntwood residents are being urged to make sure they don’t miss out on a vote when the elections to appoint a new police and crime commissioner.

The ballot – on November 15 – means electoral registration forms have gone out earlier than usual.

Locals are being encouraged to deal with their registration form promptly to make sure they can have their say.

Nina Dawes, Electoral Registration Officer for Lichfield District, said: “Registering to vote is quick and simple. All you have to do is update the annual canvass form with details of everyone who lives in your household and is eligible to vote, and return it to us as soon as possible. These are new elections.

“If you want your say, you must make sure you’re registered to vote.”

If there are no changes to be made to the details, registration can take place electronically using the internet, telephone or text. Where changes need to be made, the form can be completed and returned by post in the envelope provided.
