Update: The event has now been cancelled. See the Elford Hall Garden website for more info. The historic walled garden at Elford will be the setting for the third annual Elford Hall Garden Folk & Real Ale Family Day this weekend. As well as 20 different locally brewed real ales, there will also be lager, cider, wine and soft drinks on offer.  Cream teas will be on sale in the Rose Garden and an afternoon BBQ will be followed by a hogroast in the evening. Event organiser Dick Cowley believes there will be something for everyone at the festival, which will feature live music throughout the afternoon together with a real nail tent and fourteen craft stalls. With face painting, storytelling and games for the children, the organisers are hoping the event will be very much a family friendly affair. The festival is taking place between 1pm and 11.30pm on Saturday (July 14). Admission is £6 for adults, £3 for under 16s and under 5s go free. Tickets are available from S & J Music (Bird St, Lichfield), Whittington Post Office (Main St, Whittington) and Peels Coffee Shop (Market St, Tamworth). Alternatively, you can contact Dick Cowley on 07986 804 289 or Roger Thompson on 01827 383460.     All proceeds from the afternoon will go towards the upkeep of Elford Walled Garden.
