Burntwood roads included in £115,000 improvement scheme

Burntwood’s kerb appeal is set to be boosted after four roads were included in a £115,000 repair and resurfacing scheme.

Footpaths will also be improved on Brooklyn Road, Brook End, Crane Drive and Burleigh Croft.

Work is due start on August 6 and local county councillor Erica Bayliss welcomed the news.

“This is great news for families in Burntwood and will make a great difference to people locally, not only in terms of how they look but for families out an about on foot,” she said.

“We will be working along the roads over the coming weeks to ensure the paths are in tip top condition in time for winter.”

Residents are being asked not to leave vehicles parked on the road during the daytime if work is taking place near their property. Engineers will be on site if this causes any concerns for families.
