Lichfield karting track to host fundraising 24-hour event in memory of former employee

A Lichfield racetrack is hosting a 24-hour karting event to raise money for charity.

The racing will take place at Midland Karting in Fradley Wood on August 15 and 16 and see staff taking each other on, although local residents are being invited to join in the fun.

The event will be in memory of employee Aaron Ainger who lost his life to Leukaemia in 2008. Money raised will help support the work of Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, CLIC Sargent and Anthony Nolan – charities close to Aaron’s heart.

Competitors can go along and race for two hours – either the whole time with one driver, or several during the 120 minutes. Each two-hour slot is £130. Drivers wanting to participate during the night must be experienced and have driven at Midland Karting regularly before. All slots require a 50 per cent deposit or full payment in advance.

The race begins on August 15 at 4pm and concludes the following day at 4pm. For more information call 01543 418419, email or go to
