The Lichfield Players are set to open their new season with spoof thriller Tiptoe Through The Tombstones.
Norman Robbins’ begins with most of the Tomb family meeting mysterious deaths d the few remaining family members have gathered at their decaying Gothic mansion to discuss the future of the family business – murder! But the meeting doesn’t go at all according to plan, and very soon the body count starts to increase.
A spokesperson said: “Add to the mixture a cleaner with a highly individual style of working, a confused maid and a clown – don’t ask – and the scene is set for some very funny business. To coin a phrase, you could die laughing!
“A highly skilled cast of Players performers will be bringing the show to life, while one of the society’s most experienced actors, Ian Davies, is making his debut as a director.”
Tiptoe Through The Tombstones is in the main house at the Lichfield Garrick from September 12 to 15 and tickets priced £12 (concessions available) are on sale at the Garrick box office on 01543 412121 or via www.lichfieldgarrick.com.
The Lichfield Players have also announced the plays for the rest of their 2011-12 season.
Shakespeare’s Richard III takes to the stage in the Garrick Studio from October 23 to 27, before the company returns in January for Bedroom Farce by Alan Ayckbourn.
Edge of Darkness by Brian Clemens is in the Garrick Studio in March and the season ends in May, also in the Studio, with My Boy Jack.
