Budding brewers urged to join fundraising taster day in Lichfield

Budding brewers are being urged to showcase their top tipples to help raise money for a Lichfield community cafe.

Run by pupils from Saxon Hill Community School, the cafe will offer locally-sourced Fair Trade refreshments and meals, with pupils even growing their own vegetables.

The facility will include a breakfast club and a senior citizens lunch club, but its main role is to give pupils aged 16 to 25 a chance to gain work experience and independence skills needed to fulfill their full potential.

Home and small brewers are being asked to come along and donate their tipples at the tasting event on Saturday (September 22). Brewers who wish to sell their ales will need to show proof of their licence to sell alcohol.

The event starts at noon and runs until 3pm. Visitors who want to try out a range of ales – as well as cheese and jams – will need to pay a £5 entry fee.
