Lichfield ambulance staff and volunteers have been honoured for their community work.

Shenstone’s Pat Roberts was named the Midlands Air Ambulance Volunteer of the Year in the West Midlands Ambulance Service Excellence in the Community awards.

A volunteer since 2009, Pat’s work to promote the life-saving charity has not gone unnoticed.

Her citation said: “Pat is kept very busy attending numerous cheque presentations, giving talks to various groups and attending lots of events all in the name of Midlands Air Ambulance.

“She is also very active in the community and demonstrates a selfless commitment to the charity.”

Meanwhile Lichfield paramedic Malcolm Baugh received an Olympic award for his work during the London 2012 Games, when he was based at the City of Coventry Stadium.

Emergency medical technician Mark Beardshaw and paramedic clinical team mentor Stephen Roberts also received Olympic recognition for their work during the Olympics and Paralympics in London.
