Dickensian London will come to life when renowned author and historian Dr Ruth Richardson comes to Lichfield.
She will be lifting the lid on the real capital of Dickens’ day and the grim facts of poverty at the time.
A spokesperson said: “We can expect a Sunday evening with a difference, so not miss out on this departure from the usual musical offerings by Lichfield Arts – it is sure to be an entertaining and informative evening of a different kind.
“Because of the nature of some of the content, the talk is not recommended for children.”
Tickets for the talk at the Lichfield Guildhall on Sunday (December 2) are available by calling 01543 262223 or visiting www.lichfieldarts.org.uk.
