Beacon Park’s woodland will see new trees planted between 10.30am and 3pm on February 6.

No skills are needed and volunteers joining the Countryside and Parks Conservation Group will be given full training and tools, but must be over 18 years of age.

Ruth Witczak, Lichfield District Council’s community and education officer, said: “This conservation day will involve cutting back scrub and planting trees to make sure the woodland is healthy for years to come.”

The group will meet outside the Swinfen Broun Pavilion, in the middle of the park, at 10.30am. To attend, contact Denice Deverall on 01543 308183 or email
