Lichfield residents will be able to find out more about Fairtrade Fortnight at an event in the city.
The day long showcase will be at the Methodist Centre on Tamworth Street on March 2.
The event will feature a stall providing Fairtrade and ethically-sourced produce from 10am to 3pm, while at 11.30am and 1pm a local chef will be running cookery demonstrations uwith the opportunity to sample freshly cooked dishes.
Fairtrade Lichfield will be running an open meeting for local people at 3pm featuring guest speaker Nilufar Verjee from Fairtrade Foundation.
A spokesperson said: “Nilufar will update the meeting on national Fairtrade developments and key campaign themes for 2013, including the multi-Non-Governmental Organisation campaign on ‘fair food’ leading up to this Summer’s G8 Conference.”
The day ends with Fairtrade Lichfield’s AGM at 4pm with discussions on plans for local Fairtrade activity over the coming year.
