The Visit Lichfield and What’s On guides featured events from across the region to keep local people and tourists busy.

The two publications are produced by Lichfield District Council’s tourism team

Councillor Louise Flowith said: “Each year I am excited to see our visitor and events guides as they are fantastic endorsements of how interesting, beautiful and fun Lichfield District and the surrounding areas are.

“This year we worked with East Staffordshire Borough Council to produce What’s On to give people a taste of events a little further afield. And, judging by the many attractions promoted within the pages of Visit Lichfield, and the record-breaking number of events listings in What’s On, 2013 is set to be another memorable year.”

The launch event featured a presentation from Alison Wallis, Manager and Curator of Erasmus Darwin House, about the recently unveiled statue of Erasmus Darwin in Beacon Park, and the upcoming reopening of the historic house’s Inventions of Dr Darwin room.

Around 80,000 copies of the visitor guide are printed and sent to tourist attractions and tourist information centres all over the country, as well as given out at local attractions.
