First recruitment of new police officers in Staffordshire for three years is confirmed

New police constables are being recruited in Staffordshire for the first time in three years.

Fourteen vacancies for officers have been posted, with the county’s chief contable describing them as an “exciting opportunity”.

The last time new officers joined Staffordshire Police was in February 2010.

“Crime and anti-social behaviour have reduced significantly over recent years and we’re looking for new officers committed to keeping that momentum going,” Chief Constable Mike Cunningham explained. “This is an exceptional and exciting opportunity.

“Staffordshire Police has a proud 170-year track-record of public service. But while we’re based on traditional values, we’re also a forward thinking force – committed to delivering quality services, being innovative, open and transparent.”

Applicants must be at least 18 years-old, be a permanent resident in Staffordshire and will need to register their details before 3pm tomorrow March 22. For more details visit the Staffordshire Police website.
