Time is running out for people to register to vote in the Staffordshire County Council elections.

Lichfield and Burntwood residents need to register by April 2 to have their say in the poll on May 2.

Diane Tilley, Deputy County Returning Officer for Lichfield District, said: “Many people don’t realise they are not automatically registered to vote, just because they pay council tax, or have voted before.

“People also need to make sure they have updated their address if they have moved house in the last six months.”

If you live in Lichfield District, and have not yet registered, visit to download a voter registration form, or call the elections team on 01543 308125.

Postal voters have until April 17 to apply.
