Britain’s Got Talent hopeful joins bid to break world record in Burntwood

A Lichfield gym is backing a bid to set the record for the world’s shortest fun run in Burntwood.

Princes Park – the UK’s smallest park – will be the scene of the bid on May 6. Participants are likely to complete the course in just 25 seconds!

Virgin Active has been unveiled as the sponsor of the event, which will raise money for the We Love Lichfield Fund.

To mark the partnership, Britain’s Got Talent contestant Bobo performed a mixture of music, dance and acrobatics for club staff and members – and confirmed he would be joining the record bid.

“I love performing a crowd,” said Bobo, who will appear on the ITV show this year,. “To be involved in this really unusual event will be fantastic and I’m looking forward to the crowd seeing my tricks and tumbles and also my fire eating feats – it’ll be brilliant.”

Kevin Wilson, from organisers KP Events, added: “This guy is a magnet for a crowd. He’s so flexible and defies gravity with some of his moves.”

The world’s shortest fun run attempt forms part of a running-themed May bank holiday weekend across the area, starting with the Lichfield Half Marathon and a running exhibition on May 5.
