Lichfield racing driver Adam Christodolou is relishing his new challenge as the Blancpain Endurance Series gets underway.
Thirteen teams will battle it out in the series across Europe, kicking off at the Italian Grand Prix track tomorrow (April 14).
After experience racing in Audi R8s and McLaren MP4-12Cs in previous seasons, Christodoulou is optimistic of a strong start to his new campaign in his brand new Mercedes SLS GT3.
“A lot is changed from last year,” he explained. “A switch of teams, a different car and new team mates.
“I feel we have an extremely competitive package and I expect to be fighting for race wins and podiums in the Pro-Am category.
“I’m looking forward to giving the professional line ups a run for their money too.”
This year sees the Lichfield man in the Black Falcon team.
The German outfit is based at the world-renowned Nurburgring and Christodoulou will be joined in the car by team-mates Klaas Hummel (Holland) and Steve Jans (Germany).
The series – which will be televised on Motors TV – will see the cars move on to Silverstone on the weekend of June 1-2. Paul Ricard follows on June 29-30, before an endurance test takes place at the legendary Spa Francorchamps circuit from July 24-28.
The season concludes with a return to the racing calendar of the Nurburgring 1000kms on September 21-22.
