After experience racing in Audi R8s and McLaren MP4-12Cs in previous seasons, Christodoulou is optimistic of a strong start to his new campaign in his brand new Mercedes SLS GT3. “A lot is changed from last year,” he explained. “A switch of teams, a different car and new team mates. “I feel we have an extremely competitive package and I expect to be fighting for race wins and podiums in the Pro-Am category. “I’m looking forward to giving the professional line ups a run for their money too.” This year sees the Lichfield man in the Black Falcon team. The German outfit is based at the world-renowned Nurburgring and Christodoulou will be joined in the car by team-mates Klaas Hummel (Holland) and Steve Jans (Germany). The series – which will be televised on Motors TV – will see the cars move on to Silverstone on the weekend of June 1-2. Paul Ricard follows on June 29-30, before an endurance test takes place at the legendary Spa Francorchamps circuit from July 24-28. The season concludes with a return to the racing calendar of the Nurburgring 1000kms on September 21-22.
