Mitchel Emms wowed judge Danny O’Donoughue with a cover of Best of You by the Foo Fighters.

The judge said: “I’m really looking forward to working with you – I think you’re going to be a really big star.”

Fellow judge Sir Tom Jones added: “I liked it, I think you did a hell of a job.”

It’s not the first time the singer has impressed on TV – he had previously appeared as Kurt Cobain on a junior version of Stars In Their Eyes.

And he paid tribute to his dad John for helping him forge a career in the music industry.

“I’m doing this for my family, especially my dad for all he’s done for me over the years.

“I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my dad. He set me up with my first guitar and drove me to gigs.

“He’s always been there as a force behind what I do.”
