A new pub is set to be built in Lichfield.

Planners have given the green light for the development on land next to Darwin Hall.

Marston’s Inns & Taverns submitted the scheme for a pub and restaurant to Lichfield District Council, describing it as an “ideal opportunity” to develop a commercial community facility.

A statement supporting the application added: “The proposed development will be a food-led operation, although it will constitute a fully licensed public house.

“The development is designed to give the appearance of an original building which predated surrounding development.”

Full details of the plans can be see on Lichfield District Council’s website.

  1. This is good news. If you have any doubts about the Marston’s integrity, take a look at the Ash Tree on the A513 / A51 junction at Armitage. The style and quality of service is excellent. The new Inn, when built will be very welcome I am sure. Well done Lichfield District Council in recommending this project. Is there any proposal yet for a name?
