Man arrested after cannabis plants are found in house near Lichfield

A man has been arrested after five cannabis plants were found in a farm house near Lichfield.

Growing equipment was also seized during the raid at the property off Main Road in Haunton on Saturday (April 26).

The house was empty at the time, but a 31-year-old man was arrested yesterday (April 29) on suspicion of producing a Class B drug. He has since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

PC Simon Lawrence, from Lichfield District LPT, said: “This pre-planned activity was carried out as part of Operation Nemesis – Staffordshire Police’s ongoing crackdown on drug supply.

“Anyone with information about drugs in their area should ring Staffordshire Police on 101. Alternatively, they can ring independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
