People are being invited to get in the saddle for a group bike ride in Lichfield.

The Cycles Ride for All programme will continue with a nine-mile trip to Whittington and back on Sunday (May 5).

This follows a taster session earlier this month that saw more than 60 riders take part.

Organiser Jerry Trill said: “It was great to see lots of new faces at the taster sessions, and many familiar ones too.

“We know the rides served as a confidence booster, as it was the first time many of our younger riders had ventured out onto the road.

“We’ve got plenty more Sunday rides planned this season, and everyone is welcome to come along and join us for free.”

The Whittington ride will be guided by trained cycle leaders and is for all ages and abilities. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

The group will meet at Freedom Cycles, next to Lichfield Bus Station, at 11am.
