The remaining places have been filled for the U18s Battle of the Bands final in Lichfield after a tense last heat at the Paradise Lounge.

Alrewas 16-year-olds The Signs booked their slot for the May 11 final with covers of hits by The Strokes, The Vaccines and The Arctic Monkeys, while Amelia Harrison netted the second berth.

The 11-year-old from Armitage took on three covers with her acoustic guitar to wow the judges.

Judge Phil Beale said “It was particularly pleasing to see some very young acts perform so confidently in front of a large audience.”

The final will take place at the Guildhall on May 11, with doors opening at 7pm.

The overall winner will play the opening set on the Main Stage at the Fuse Festival on July 13.

Tickets for the final are £2 on the door.
