Younger Theatrics students workshop a film idea about protesting

Students from a theatre school have been preparing to branch out into film.

The Theatrics Stage School has called on Peter Ralley from Rali Studios to run workshops to help students produce their own short move.

It is hoped that the finished product – which will be shot and edited locally – will be displayed at an end of term showcase.

Principal Nicky Wright said: “Theatrics normally focuses on musical theatre and contemporary music for singing and dancing, so filmaking is a new element to the curriculum.

“We are now approaching our tenth anniversary and wanted to celebrate that with something entirely different. We have recorded CDs a couple of times in the past and have filmed our show,s but never made a film before.

“The students are proving to be very creative in their thoughts and we have already had suggestions of zombies and vampires, but once everyone has had a chance to bring their ideas we will workshop them and then create a story and script from there.”

The Theatrics Stage School meets on Thursday evenings in Fradley and on Saturdays at Scotch Orchard School in Lichfield. For more information email or call 07976 442202.
