The group received the accolade for raising the most amount of money for charity.

They picked up the award at the Association of Ladies Circles national conference in Harrogate, after collecting more than £15,000 at events such as selling Christmas wreaths, a charity challenge day and completing a skydive.

Susan Davies, chair of Lichfield Ladies Circle, said that she was delighted with the award.

“The last 12 months have been fantastic,” she explained. “All the ladies have put huge amount of effort into their fundraising activities and are delighted to be supporting such wonderful causes.”

The money has allowed donations to be made to:

  • ERBS Palsy Society
  • CRUSE
  • The Alzeihmer’s Society
  • The Stroke Club
  • Saxon Hill School
  • The Teenage Cancer Trust
  • Ward 15 at Birmingham Children’s Hospital
  • Cancer Research UK

The group – made up of women aged between 18 and 45 – are already planning new ways to raise money for even more charities.

Lichfield Ladies Circle meet twice monthly to have fun nights out, try out new activities, and in the process raise money for good causes. For more information visit www.lichfieldladiescircle.co.uk, call 0800 148 8595 or email [email protected].
