People in Lichfield and Burntwood are being invited to warm up their vocal cords and join a community choir.

Lichfield Arts are looking for people who might never have sung in public before to take part in a performance at the Fuse Festival in Beacon Park on July 14.

A series of free workshops will take place in the run-up to the performance and are open to people of all ages and abilities.

Lichfield Arts director Dave Simcox said: “We have run many outreach projects in the past and we are delighted that this year the focus will be on music.

“We want to get more people taking part in and enjoying music. Our aim is that this will be the beginning of a long lasting, fully inclusive community choir in Lichfield district”.

The first session for those interested in taking part is on May 22 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at Wade Street Church Hall. Further sessions will follow on June 5, 12, 19 and 26, and July 3 and 10.
