Ten homes in and around Lichfield are opening their doors for people to find out more about saving money and energy.
A wide range of properties will take part in the event on Sunday (May 19), showcasing features such as:
- solid wall insulation
- solar panels
- wood-burning boilers and stoves
- heat pumps
- grey water recycling
- LED lighting
Homes in Lichfield, Burntwood, Cannock Wood, Whittington and Armitage will take part in the Open Ecohomes event, with the owners sharing their experiences.
Information about potential financial help through the Green Deal and other funding sources – such as the new ECO subsidy – will also be available.
Kate Sadler, from Southern Staffordshire Community Energy said, “This is a great opportunity to talk to people who have made great efforts to reduce their energy use.
“We have a great range of homes on show including three winners of our solid wall makeover competition. If you want to find out how to cut your energy bills, don’t miss this event.”
