Student firefighters have shown they have made the grade after taking part in a passing out parade.

The Year 8 and Year 9 pupils from schools across the Lichfield and Burntwood area have been attending sessions for six weeks to learn a range of skills.

And they showed off their talents at a display in front of friends and family at Lichfield Fire Station.

Student Firefighter co-ordinator Hannah Bond said: “The student firefighter course has been a fantastic experience which has brought out the best in those involved.

“Not only have they learnt new practical skills but they have also learnt life skills such as communication and teamwork.

“All students have really enjoyed their time with us on station and we are really proud of their achievements.”
