A new Aikido group is launching in Fradley.

An open day at Fradley Youth and Community Centre from 12.30pm to 4.30pm on June 1 will give people the chance to find out more about the Black Star Aikido group.

Sessions will then be held from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Saturdays.

A spokesperson said: “The club is the second dojo to open as part of Black Star Aikido who teach traditional and practical aikido as part of a grading syllabus.

“Aikido is a martial art for all and can be practiced by all age groups and fitness levels, classes are structured to accommodate beginners, intermediate and advanced practioners.”

The club instructors will be Sensei Steve Tonks (2nd Dan) and Sensei Andy Leighton (1st Dan) with regular support from Shidoin Neil Howie (4th Dan).
