Plans to increase the number of days land near Lichfield and Burntwood can be used to host car boot sales have been rejected.

The owner had hoped to get the green light to hold more events at the site on Pouk Lane, while ending the use of land south of Boat Lane and northeast of Ivy House Farm at the same time.

But the proposal to increase the number of days the agricultural land could be used for sales from 14 to 42 was rejected by Lichfield District Council.

The local authority said the increase would lead to “undue noise, traffic movements and general disturbance” for neighbouring properties.

They added that an increase in the concentration of traffic would mean to an “increase in additional danger” to road users.

Full details of the application and the rejection notice can be seen on Lichfield District Council’s planning website.
