A new project has been launched in a bid to create a unique art display near Lichfield.

The organisers of the Three Bridges Gallery is hoping to set up the world’s first pop-up exhibition on a canal towpath in Dunstall.

And they have taken to the Crowdfunder website in a bid to reach the £500 target they need to host the showcase.

“At the heart of this project is a very simple idea – take three canal bridges, three artists, three days in summer and create the world’s first towpath pop-up gallery,” a spokesperson said.

“The idea has been presented to and approved by the Canal and River Trust, three local artists have been recruited to exhibit in the show and now all we need to do is raise a small amount of money so that we can go ahead.”

People who back the project will receive different benefits based on the amount they donate – including having the bridges temporarily renamed for the duration of the exhibition.

However, the project will only go ahead if they achieve their target before June 21.
