There was disappointment for Lichfield as they lost out to Swindon in the Staffordshire Club Cricket Championship Premier Division.

The city side struggled with the bat as openers Dean Price and Stuart Fielding were both caught off the bowling of Abid Khan without troubling the scoreboard.

Only Riley Ward (16), Thomas Stone (13) and Adam Baker (43) reached double figures as Khan bagged 5-54 and Dan Wale collected 3-42 to restrict Lichfield to 149 all out.

Any hopes of similar battling struggles for Swindon were dismissed as they reached the winning target with the loss of just three wickets in only 28.3 overs.

There was also disappointment for Hammerwich as they suffered 28 run loss against Pelsall.

Hammerwich looked to have given themselves a chance as they bowled Pelsall out for 179, Danny King finishing with 5-41 and Damien Paul collecting 3-37.

But with openers King and John Ackrell Jnr dismissed without scoring, it was always going to be an uphill task.

Knocks of 40 for Paul and 58 not out for Todd Allen edged Hammerwich closer to the target, but they eventually succumbed after 44 overs with a total of 151.

Elsewhere in the Division, Beacon v Whittington and Wednesbury v Cannock & Rugeley were both abandoned, while Aldridge picked up a win at Old Wulfrunians.

June 22 Premier Division fixtures:
