Comic Alan Davies will headline day two of the Lichfield Festival 2013 with a sold-out show at the Garrick.

Music fans will be in for a number of treats, with I Fagiolini appearing at Lichfield Cathedral at 7.30pm, while the Skampa Quartet will play a 3pm afternoon concert at St Michael’s Church.

“For their Lichfield concert, The Skampa Quartet have chosen two well-loved quartets, Mendelssohn’s Op.13 and Schubert’s Quartet in G, D887,” a spokesperson said.

There will also be music on offer in the Lady Chapel of Lichfield Cathedral at 11am when pianist Chie Nagatini and violinist Darin Qualls perform works by Stravinsky, Faure and Ravel.

The day’s other event features a poems from around the world presented via music, projections and imagery as Being Human comes to the Garrick Studio at 9pm.

“Charting the drama of our lives, these are thoughtful and passionate poems that will touch the heart, stir the mind and fire the spirit – poems about being human, about love and loss, fear and longing, hurt and wonder,” a spokesperson added.
