Youngsters bidding to follow in the footsteps of Andy Murray have been given a boost after tennis courts in Lichfield were given a makeover.
The facilities at Beacon Park were refurbished after £9,000 of section 106 funding was secured.
A mini tennis camp event saw young players test the new surface, lighting and nets.
Coach Zoe Edwards said: “It was great to take my ‘Mini Murrays’ class out on to the courts and we really noticed a difference in their game.
“The new surface meant the balls had more power and it was easier for our players to dash around the courts.
“We’re always looking for more children to get involved. If you are three years of age or over, come and see if you could be the next Andy Murray!”
The makeover also saw the lines repainted to allow for netball to be played too.
