An MP has been bowled over by improvements to a Burntwood cricket club.
Facilities have been given a makeover at Burntwood St Matthews thanks to a £7,500 grant from Sport England.
Lichfield MP Michael Fabricant was given a guided tour by chairman John Farmer, who explained the club’s thriving youth and senior set up.
“It was a real pleasure to visit the club which is always open and welcoming to new members,” said Mr Fabricant. “They are active in securing new sports grants for its grounds and facilities and I am very keen to support them particularly in any application for a grant to improve their club house and changing facilities.
“I wish them all the very best for the future – they offer a very real community service.”
