A new history group in Lichfield is inviting anyone interested in exploring the city’s past to come along to their next meeting.
Group member Dave Gallagher explained: “We held an initial meeting in July to see if people were interested in forming a group. It was clear from the fantastic response we had that people were really keen on the idea and so we decided to meet once a month, with the intention of looking at different aspects of Lichfield’s history, in a variety of ways.
“It’s a very informal and friendly group and whether you’ve lived in Lichfield for five months or fifty years, we want people to come along and get involved!”
The group will be meeting on the first Wednesday of each month, and the next one takes place at the George IV pub on August 7, from 7pm to 9pm, where the theme will be ‘The Old Shops of Lichfield’.
