Members of Lichfield Ladies Circle have backed a winner to help raise more than £1,200 for a city school.

The fundraising race night in June saw more than 60 people join in the fun, with a series of races, a raffle, auction and fish and chip supper.

The £1,266 total will go to Rocklands School. Chair of the school’s ASPF, Ashley Hall, said: “This money will go a long way to developing the sensory room.

“After many years of constant use, the current room is now outdated and much of the specialist equipment is in need of repair. This money will help enable the pupils to make progress in a way that would be difficult to achieve without access to such a stimulating environment and specialist interactive equipment.”
