Andy Connor

The managing director of a Lichfield business is swapping his suit for climbing boots as he takes on a charity challenge.

Andy Connor, who works at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics UK, will tackle Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

He decided to embark on the trek after seeing a similar challenge during Comic Relief.

“I have challenged myself to climb Africa’s highest mountain to raise money for a charity that is close to my heart as my father suffered with Motor Neurone Disease,” Andy explained.

“This very special charity performs extremely worthwhile and vital activities. Once someone is diagnosed with the disease, the help and support from the charity is nothing short of fantastic.”

The trek to the top later this month will see Andy take on the Machame Route which approaches Kilimanjaro from the south and involves a six day trek.

“It is sure to be a tough but rewarding route with spectacular views,” Andy added.

Donations to Andy’s cause can be made via his JustGiving page.
