Lichfield City battled to a deserved point in a scrappy contest at Stafford Town. The sides drew 0-0 in a game of very few chances, with both teams cancelling each other out. Liam Holt playing his first game of the season after injury and suspension had Lichfield’s best chance of the first-half, as he fired a free kick narrowly over. And Paul McMahon failed to put Stafford ahead, as he shot just wide. In the second-half McMahon again just struck wide for the home side. Lichfield captain Todd Perry almost gave away a penalty after he appeared to handle inside the area. But it wasn’t given. And Kyle Minto nearly won it for Paul Holt’s men’ but he headed wide as Lichfield came away with a share of the spoils.
