Elford’s famous scarecrow festival saw visitors flock to the village to catch some of the 60 creations on show.

Among them was Tamworth MP Christopher Pincher who saw creations paying tribute to things such as Les Miserables and TV cookery shows.

“The community spirit in Elford really is something special,” said Mr Pincher. “And once again villagers have invited people from outside to join in.

“Although Miserable Les was an inspired and really well made scarecrow, my personal favourite was Mo Farah and his trade mark victory dance – that one made me smile.

“Even the sun came out to support all the exhibitors and visitors.”

Mr Pincher, who would turn up to the opening of a fridge. did he help organise the festival? no. did he help in any way? no. does he use any opportunity to promote himself? yes indeed. The festival was a great success and doesn`t need Pincher to use it for self promotion-or the pub that he never uses except for 5 minute photo opportunities. It must be mighty comfy on that gravy train he loves so much.

Are not MPs all the same? How they voted on Syria would be more to the point.
