The chairman of Burntwood RUFC has paid tribute to the work of the club’s players and coaches as they prepare to kick off their season. Paul Rogers made his comments ahead of The Sportsway side’s clash with Wednesbury today (September 7). And the chairman believes the club’s focus on its youth setup will pay dividends. “There has been a tremendous amount of work done pre-season by all the coaches and players from both the senior and junior sections of the club and it is my hope that we have a successful season to reward their efforts,” Rogers told the Burntwood RUFC website. “Certainly, the senior sides are now bearing the fruits of some fine young talent that is emerging from a strong junior section. “The development of youth in the club is the best we have ever had and it is great to see all the enthusiastic youngsters when I am down at the club midweek.” Kick-off for today’s Intermediate Cup clash is at 3pm.
