Linda Bridges getting ready for the St Giles Hospice fire walk

Fundraising efforts for St Giles Hospice are hotting up with a fire walk in Lichfield.

The Whittington-based charity will benefit from the brave individuals treading over hot coals at Blackbrook Antique Centre on November 2.

And there’s still time for daredevils to join the fire walk.

Linda Bridges, from the St Giles Hospice Fundraising Team will be among those taking part. She said: “I’m really excited about taking on this unique opportunity to challenge my courage, determination and willpower and hopefully raise a significant amount of money for St Giles Hospice at the same time.

“The fire walk is an ancient rite of passage that has been practised by civilisations around the globe for centuries and I’d urge anyone interested in putting themselves to the test to join me and take part.

“It’s said to be one of the most inspirational journeys you’ll ever make and I’m sure it’s an experience which will live long in the memory – plus it’s all for a fantastic cause.”

Entry to the St Giles Hospice Firewalk is £50 and all those taking part must raise additional sponsorship of at least £100. Registration begins at 6pm on November 2 with the walk itself taking place following a motivational training session.
